Vogel Pianos by Schimmel

European Touch and Tone

Highly-respected piano tuners and technicians from Classic Pianos spent two years in search of a moderately priced piano for quality conscious customers . . . with scale and performance design for touch and tone . . . that resembled top-rated European pianos.

The consensus was that Vogel by Schimmel of Braunschweig, (Brunswick) Germany embodied “European benchmarks of quality in the tradition of Old-world German craftsmanship” that competed favorably with other European pianos of much higher price.

In 1882, Wilhelm Schimmel learned the art of piano making at the piano factory “Vogel & Sohn” in Leipzig, Germany. Only three years later, with great success, he founded his own piano manufacturing company.

Today, Hannes Schimmel-Vogel preserves the family business in the fourth generation. He places considerable emphasis on company expansion to meet increased sales volume, and has invested in an additional production site in Kalisz, Poland for intensified research and development.

Vogel pianos offer a balanced feeling of playing and a corresponding tone quality which owes a great deal to the high quality components originating in Schimmel, Braunschweig.

Schimmel and Vogel pianos incorporate Schimmel keyboards, spruce sounding boards, Abel hammer-heads, Roslau strings, and highly-prized Renner actions ― all Made in Germany.

Vogel upright and grand pianos benefit by association with Schimmel’s “Family of Instruments” that have left a genuine mark of quality and goodly heritage on every piano. Whether from Schimmel in Brauschweig, the German center of piano manufacture; or from Kalisz, the oldest city in Poland . . . shaped by piano manufacture, the national piano manufacturing school, and numerous piano restoration shops . . . Vogel pianos offer European craftsmanship for quality-conscious customers at an attractive price.
